The starting point of every baby’s intelligence begins in his mother’s womb. The baby’s tendencies of been smart is built while he is still a fetus.  This period in the baby’s life is very important; it is when the raw materials of his intelligence and personality are being formed.

"What you do while you're pregnant can have as much impact on your child's brain development and future intelligence as what you do after you give birth," says Diane Ashton

What to do during Pregnancy for Smarter and Intelligent Babies

An expectant mother, need to ensure that her diet has all the nutrients and energy needed for her baby to develop properly. She also has to ensure that the baby’s body is healthy as this will enable him or her to deal with the different developmental changes.

A healthy lifestyle works for everyone, especially a pregnant mum. And more than anything else, the ordinary decisions of exercising daily would surely make a difference towards you and your baby's health.

As a Super Mom you should know that living a lifestyle of exercising while you're expecting helps your baby grow better and stronger, but do you know it can also make him smarter too? In fact, simple choices that you make every day can help to develop his brain.

2. Be Mindful of Thyroid

Some women will develop thyroid problems for their first pregnancy and this must be treated. High and low levels of the thyroid hormone in your blood can harm the fetus. Low thyroid hormone levels have been linked to lower IQ later in childhood. You can keep your thyroid gland in good function by consuming 220mcg of iodine every day.

3. Create a Better Bonding with Your Baby

Talking to your unborn child may look and feel silly, but it help you a whole lot to bond with your baby early in life. Scientists tell us that babies hear and they can respond to sound. You can therefore sing, read or simply talk to your baby. Studies have found that babies tend to be calmer when they hear a voice they've already heard in the womb.

4. Eat good nutritious and brain-boosting food

Most mothers know that good nutrition is especially important during pregnancy. What women eat during pregnancy affects the physical and mental development of their child for years to come. Adding certain brain-boosting foods to a balanced diet during pregnancy and even pre-pregnancy can boost a baby's IQ, behavioral skills and memory well into adulthood.
