Create a happy environment for your kids.

Every child deserves a healthy and happy environment; parents have the responsibility to create such environment in their homes where children feel loved, secured and cared for. Homes were everyone is respected and treated like a celebrity. After a long day, having your kids and spouse come home to you is what every woman look forward to.
Environment plays a great role in the academic growth and development of every child. In fact children who grow in a healthy and happy home do better in academics.
To create a happy home does not have to be difficult.

1.   Fun homecoming:

The way you welcome your husband, wife and even kids will determine whether your home is a happy home or not. Going to the door to greet your husband or even wife when he/she comes home after a long stressful day should be void of any kind of complain, problems and sad tales.
Coming home can be made fun by involving your kids to welcome their dad, “I give a happy yell in the direction of my kids “Daddy’s home!” I stop what I am doing, walk to the door and give him a warm welcome.”  Kids love to throw themselves on their dad who makes homecoming exciting and fun.
Avoid any topic that is mood changing at this point; topics like child academic performance, accumulated bills or any form of complain. It’s not the time to bring up serious issues or discipline your children. “Did you hand in that paper that was late?” You know you left your dirty laundry in your room, you need to go upstairs right now and take care of that!”
Kids should also be given a fun homecoming to because this single act will mean a whole lot to your child. Children need your attention at the end of their day. “A hug, kiss, a snack and a listening ear, are simple and powerful way to let them know that they are valued and loved”. Tell your child how glad you are that he/she is home.

2. Changeover time:

Give your kids and spouse little time after the greeting, hugs and kisses to changeover from work or school to home. We all need time to let out stress, unwind and switch gears. We want to make it as pleasant as possible.
“I have one friend whose husband comes home from work and disappears into their bedroom for 5-10 minutes, (with his wife’s support and permission) just to catch his breath. He is then able to sit down to dinner with his family.”
Give your kids and spouse time to cool off from every form of daily activities they had. Homework can be done after little rest and quietness as kids deserves it too.

3. Fun activities in your home:

“We all know that home is where our heart is. Creating joyful homecomings, giving our loved ones time to transition, developing healthy relaxation habits and laughter can help our hearts reside in a happy place.” Watching healthy family movies together, share funny events that happen within the family and funny things that happened in their schools. How about the funny thing they did when they were babies?
